Local Government and 2012

The NI 2012 Local Government Group is administered and supported by NILGA to facilitate councils in identifying and availing of the opportunities identified through the London 2012 Games.

Membership of the group is supported by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure 2012/2013 Games Legacy Unit. All coordination of local government’s 2012 activities is now being filtered through this working group.

The group’s objective is to ensure that NI local government engages in 2012 activities and is included in communications across the United Kingdom. The Group, through NILGA, issues regular 2012 news bulletins to councils and is planning a number of council engagement events in the lead up to the 2012 Olympic event.
