Local Democracy Week 2011 - A Guide to Getting Your Council Involved

Each year local government set aside a week in October in which it is hoped that local councils will promote local democracy by involving young people in a number of activities and getting them more involved in local government. This year’s Local Democracy Week runs from the 10th to 16th October 2011. There is a lot of good work going on across Northern Ireland to connect young people with their local councils – and this work is proven to deliver results. The attached guide is designed to bring ideas together and encourage you to run events in your council area.
