The Healthy debate and debating skill resources for councils and councillors support councils in embedding a culture of constructive, evidence-led debate, enabling councillors to test proposals, explore risks and consider different perspectives in decision-making. New resources are also available to support councillors visiting schools to talk about their role as a councillor and the council itself. The pack aims to support improved understanding of local democracy amongst young people and lower the barriers to councillors engaging with young people by providing them with simple, downloadable and adaptable resources.
