NILGA & Impera Analytics Host Council Officer Training Event

NILGA in partnership with Impera Analytics, hosted a special Citizen Led Impact training event for council officers in Northern Ireland. This is the first time the training course has taken place here.

The course aims to give delegates an understanding of Citizen-Led Impact and how it can be transformative in the longer-term approach to community engagement, allowing individuals to actively participate in the policy-making process.

Unlike more traditional methods, Citizen-Led Impact places citizens at the centre of the decision-making process, using their unique insights, understanding and experience to shape the policies and actions that will directly affect their lives.  This process helps ensure that the decisions made, truly reflect the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Following completion of the two-day course, council officers were presented with their certificates at an in-person session in Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.

NILGA President Cllr Alison Bennington said, “The Citizen Led Impact course provides council delegates with a wonderful opportunity to look at how we help to build better communities across all our cities, towns and villages.

“This is a longer term, more inclusive and equitable approach, actively involving a diverse range of voices, including marginalised and underrepresented groups.

“The Citizen Led Impact approach fosters an improved sense of ownership and inclusivity in community development, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact of this training in all of our member council areas.”

Pye Nyunt, CEO, Impera Analytics said, "Citizen Led Impact places lived experience at the heart of policymaking. By using data to tell the stories that matter most to our communities, we empower citizens to shape solutions that truly reflect their needs. This model is about more than just engagement - it's about co-creating a future where everyone's voice is heard and valued."
