Alderman Jim Dillon has been an Ulster Unionist member of Lisburn City Council since 1977 and served as Mayor from 2000 to 2002. He was elected to Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council in May 2014 with the council assuming full powers including planning on 1st April 2015. He represents Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council on the Northern Ireland Local Government Association (NILGA), he is party alternate office bearer, chair of the NILGA planning & regeneration working group and is a member of the NILGA Executive Committee.Read More

The purpose of this working group is to support members and officers to influence the development of policy and legislation on planning and regeneration, and to build member capacity on these areas of work. The group and associated networks act as a regional mechanism for sharing good practice, knowledge and information between councils, and deliver capacity building events and resource materials on relevant issues.
